As I was reading this, I kept thinking less about my own growth and more about others. You've captured why it requires wonder when meeting and getting to know a person--you, for example. :) Also, vinegar was the perfect V word for your poem. An ingredient of depth and complex character, in anyone's personal recipe.

Abecedarian! What a playful form--xylem is such a poetic word. It begs to be written. Conny, you are always brave with your pen. I really love things in-process, unfolding in their own good time. To me everything is more interesting while it is in flux: a new mushroom pushing up through the leaves, an unrolling fern frond, the butterfly still sleeping in chrysalis form. Getting a peek at the process feels like a secret gift. Thank you for mentioning Microseasons--that's so encouraging to me. ✨💛

This is such a wonderful write up on Emily Dickinson's poem, and your own poem is so good Conny! You have made such an important point. Everything takes its own time, and we just have to be patient! Yes, this is the truth about life! Well put!
